What you will learn in this article:

Please note: That tags are currently just available for Shopify Users

1. Why use tags?

Tags are incredibly useful for analyzing your marketing performance. For example, customer tags allow you to segment your customers, compare groups and measure additional revenue based on segment-specific actions. You could invite one group to download a new app and compare the results across segments, or run other experiments.

Similarly, you might want to analyze how products tagged as 'New Arrival' perform in terms of conversion rates or sales volume compared to products tagged as 'On Sale' or 'Best Seller'.

2. How to configure Tags?

In Shopify, tags can be set up to label different types of items. If you need help with the setup, please refer to the **Shopify Documentation.**

Admetrics Data Studio lets you display KPIs for three types of tags:

You can use them for breakdowns or as filters, and it’s possible to select individual tags or tag lists.

3. How do I display tags in Admetrics Data Studio?

Once you have set up tags in Shopify, we will process the data for you automatically.

To explore relevant metrics, simply select the tags you need in the Breakdown within the Performance view. You can also use tags as filters.

4. Should I use tags or tag lists? What breakdowns are available?

In Shopify, you can assign multiple tags to a product or order. These are stored in Product tag list and Order tag list. We also extract each individual item, so you can filter and break down by Product tag and Order tag. Only individual customer tags are available.

Available tag breakdowns:

- Product tag - Product tag list
- Order tag - Order tag list
- Customer tag
