What you will learn in this article:

Accurately tracking your cost of goods sold (COGS) and shipping costs is crucial for managing your business finances and optimizing your profit margins.

How to set your COGS and Shipping Costs

  1. Click on Settings > under COGS + Shipping costs “Edit” or here.

  2. If COGS net is not available for your products in Shopify, you can set an average rate to calculate COGS based on the undiscounted net sale price of each item. If you have already uploaded your COGS, we'll use those figures, and you won't need to configure them here.

  3. Next, enter the average shipping cost for each country you ship to, along with a default shipping cost for countries without specific shipping costs. This will ensure accurate calculations of your profit margins and other financial metrics.
